free design workshops

Scheme Designer’s Owner and Chief Designer, Craig Barnett, will host four free workshops at EAA Oshkosh 2023.  In his interactive sessions, he will share critical guidelines and best design practices for a variety of makes and models of aircraft, for owners and companies to use when designing their new aircraft livery and in considering the repainting of their aircraft.  Craig’s world-renowned workshops are presented in a dynamic, engaging, educational and entertaining, graphic-rich and visually stimulating style.  

The interactive workshops include use of hundreds of photos and design renderings illustrating best practices for aircraft paint scheme design.  The workshop will assist customers in navigating the process to develop their paint scheme and see it through to reality, including criteria to choosing the right paint shop for you.

Designing the Perfect Paint Scheme

Learn the best approaches to designing your own paint or vinyl scheme. Craig will share design concepts and best practices from drawing preparation, design of your paint scheme or vinyl design, to specification and communication of the design to your paint shop. After attending this graphic-rich forum, you will never look at paint schemes the same way, and you will have the basic knowledge to design the perfect paint scheme for your aircraft, tastes, and stylistic preferences.

Considerations in Aircraft Painting

There’s a wide range of considerations when it comes to painting your aircraft. This forum will help you understand quality in the industry, help you analyze and select your paint shop, look at the choice between the use of vinyl designs versus paint, look at paint brands, and determine the cost impact of paint scheme design choices. You do not get to frequently paint or repaint an airplane. Paint is a major investment in your aircraft, and this forum helps you approach it with knowledge.
